G'day Dog Lovers,
The weekend bushfires in Victoria were simply devastating. As Julia Gillard put it, "a tragedy beyond belief, beyond precedent and really beyond words."
Plenty of media attention has rightfully been given to the enormous loss of life and property, but we should also remember the disastrous toll that bushfires exact on native wildlife. Dogs Life has been made aware of one ongoing relief effort to help animals injured in the bushfires, with nearby vets and carers who are going to need help to look after the injured wildlife.
There are a number of urgently needed items. They include:
• Sustagen (vanilla)
• Divetelac milk formula
• Blankets
• Towels
• Beanies
• Pillow cases
• Cotton wool
• Bandage material/gauze swabs
• Washing Baskets
• Saline
• Manuka healing honey
• Slivazine ointment
This is just a starting point and the list is sure to grow. If you're at all able to help, donations can be made at:
